Not Much to Eat

Took this photo in a lovely valley which gets very dry during summer with RC many summers ago. I’ve been great at sorting out incoming photos straight into their various folders the past two years. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the previous years. Lots of sorting out to do…….. sigh……..

From recollection, this photo was taken late evening with a hazy sunshine in the air coming from the right of the photo, casting nice long shadows on the sheep. This was one of the last photos of the day as the sun was heading fast behind a hill and soon it was dark. Sunrise and sunsets are excellent times to take photos, regardless of genre as the lighting is amazing. Not Much to Eat

AH Stylized

Edited a photo of AH. The final image consists of the two images and an overlay.

This is the original RAW image, straight out of camera (SOOC).AH Composite SOOC

I liked the image but found the upper part all blown out and colors washed out I decided to add a second image as texture which would also serve to reduce the overexposed part of the image. After trying several different images for the texture, I finally settled on an image I took of stones in a golden lit river.

I then added a leaf overlay, played around with the color, brightened the face area and darkened the edges to give this final composite image. AH Composite

Metallic Fern

Initially edited this image as a B&W image and for some reason decided to give it a metallic look. Purposely took the photo with the stem running right down the middle to create symmetry.Metallic Fern

Still Life

Still life…… not something I’ve really dabbled in. Maybe because I’m never still?? 😉

It’s raining which is good but at the same time there’s gentle natural soft box lighting streaming through the double glass doors. Got a black tea towel for a backdrop, a spoon, frozen fruit and tomatoes and of course my camera with my macro lens.

Tomato trio. Took several images and liked this one the best. Flicked water on them which looks much better and adds depth.Tomato Trio

Raspberry trio. I’m planning on playing with these more in the future. Only thing I have to remember to do is act fast as they defrost very quickly.Raspberry on Spoon

Frozen fruit make great subjects and are deliciously crunchy and refreshing to eat! I don’t know which is my favorite but what I do know is that they all scream EAT ME!Blackberry on Spoon3
